Quarrel of chickens in Victoria

Residents of Victoria are screaming, while one of their neighbors is preparing to accommodate a hundred laying hens on his land.

The owner of the land of a little less than one hectare of Rockland district already has five chickens and plans to accommodate a hundred more birds to feed its low-income tenants.

However, it faces strong opposition from its neighbors for whom the three henhouses built recently are “ugly” and raise fears for public health.

The lady may be forced to review her plans if the motion passed on March 15, limiting the number of hens a resident can own on her land to 12, was transformed into a by-law.
