Some residents ignore eviction notice in Brantford

Peter Ward and his girlfriend choose not to leave their home flooded in Brantford, despite the evacuation notice of the city.

“We were not going to leave unless [the police] knock on our door. But no one came, so we stayed, “says Ward.

He has not slept for nearly 24 hours, working to run a pump to drain the water from his basement.

The water is pumped outside, but there is always water infiltrating [in the basement].
