According to a recent online poll, Ontario voters would choose Progressive Conservative Leader Doug Ford to be their new Premier in the next provincial election on June 7.
Doug Ford would be a favorite against current Liberal Premier Kathleen Wynne and Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath.
The poll was conducted this week, just days after Doug Ford was chosen to lead the Conservative Party of Ontario. Of the respondents, 24% believe that the politician would make the best prime minister among the three party leaders.
Andrea Horwath would be in second place with 15% support among respondents.
Kathleen Wynne would be in third place with 13% of the voting intentions.
The results also indicate that if the June elections were held today, 42% of the vote would vote for the Conservatives, 26% for the Liberals and 24% for the NDP.
The survey was conducted online by the Léger Institute between March 12 and March 14. A total of 1,008 Ontarians eligible to vote participated.
The market researcher, the Association for Marketing Research and Intelligence, says that online surveys can not be given a margin of error because they are not a random sample. are not necessarily representative of the entire population.
